Short Term Rental Host keeps every advertising, affiliate, and AI-tool relationship visible. This page lists each one and what it means for what you read.

Platform names and marks (Airbnb, Vrbo)

Short Term Rental Host is an independent editorial guide. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Airbnb, Inc. or Vrbo (Expedia Group). Platform names and any logos appear strictly for editorial identification of the products being compared and discussed. Where official press-kit terms clearly permit the use of brand marks, they appear in their original form; otherwise the site uses plain text-only platform labels.

Affiliate and referral programs

Short Term Rental Host expects to participate in editorial affiliate or referral programs in three categories where host-side utility is clearest: short-term rental insurance carriers, dynamic pricing tools, and cleaning / turnover tools. Other categories (smart locks, noise monitoring, tax and bookkeeping, mid-term rental marketplaces) may be added later. Specific program partners are named on this page when links go live; this page is updated before any new affiliate or referral link is added to the site.

The editorial firewall is non-negotiable: affiliate or referral participation never changes which platform a comparison page recommends, never changes which formula or band a calculator uses, and never determines which provider surfaces first in a list. “Recommended” on this site means host-side utility, not highest commission. No affiliate or referral link appears in the homepage hero, in the property-type answer module, or in any calculator's result area.

Property-management-system tools (Hostfully, iGMS, Guesty, Lodgify, etc.) are deliberately deprioritized at launch because a host comparing Airbnb and Vrbo is rarely the right audience for a full PMS. Those tools may appear later in a separate scaling-up content cluster, where the audience fits.

Display advertising

No display advertising runs on Short Term Rental Host at launch. The editorial identity of the site is undercut by display-ad chrome, and the decision-grade content we publish reads better without it. Display advertising may be re-evaluated 90 days after launch if affiliate and referral revenue does not carry — and only if operator decides display ads do not compromise editorial register. Default expectation: no display advertising long-term. If a provider is ever added, this page and the footer name them before the first impression serves.

AI tools

The on-site assistant is AI-assisted and labeled as such on every page where it appears. It matches user questions against a curated corpus of vetted seeds; when the corpus has no good answer, it deflects rather than guessing. Sourced math is human-verified — AI is never trusted to invent numbers, formulas, or citations. AI tools also assist with drafting article copy; the verification posture described in editorial policy covers what gets checked.

Analytics

The site may use aggregate analytics (Google Analytics or equivalent) to measure traffic. See privacy for what's collected and how. No first-party cookies are set; analytics providers may set their own per their respective policies.

When monetization changes — when the first affiliate program is added, when display advertising is enabled — this page is updated before the change goes live. If you find a link or ad that isn't disclosed here, email admin@shorttermrentalhost.com and it gets fixed.
